Maf's Native Races

Overview

Maf is home to several distinct sapient races, in addition to its tall-statured human population (the Kaolsan/ Kaolsani and other native human peoples — see Maf (Planet) for their height figures).

The Races

• Forest Giants — a primitive, Neanderthal-like race living in the forests of the central continent; avoid all contact with others
• Dwarves — live in the high mountains at the headwaters of the Great River; master tunnelers and miners, self-styled "guardians" of the river's birthplace
• Elves (Elven Kingdoms) — human-height, living south of the dwarves; keep to themselves, considering themselves protectors of the forests and nature within their territory
• Centaurs — formerly dominant across the northern continent, now largely settled on two islands to the northeast after centuries of war with humans; not primitive, and at peace with (and integrated among) humans for 200+ years
