Gherallis Tribe / Kaolsan People
Type: Faction — Indigenous People/Tribe (extinct) / Language Status: Canon (fully clarified by creator)
Overview
Kaolsan is the name of both the language and the tribes/peoples of the deserts of the Norihing continent — Maf's largest continent, and the setting for nearly all established history to date. "Kaolsani" is the plural/possessive form of Kaolsan, used both to refer to the desert dwellers collectively and to their shared language.
✅ The Kaolsani are confirmed indigenous to Maf — not descended from the Original Colonists or any off-world source. They are also confirmed to be the native peoples (men roughly 5.9–7+ ft, women roughly 5.6–6.7 ft) that the Original Colonists encountered on arrival — see Ark Royal and Maf (Planet).
The Gherallis were one nomadic tribe among the broader Kaolsan/Kaolsani desert peoples, native to the Dielvan Wac Desert and Shapas Desert — both located on Norihing. Now extinct. Known to have traveled across the Shapas Desert and into the forests south of the "great river," reaching its banks.
The Kaolsan language is also the source of the name Kas-Do ("Superior Man"), adopted by the sentient AI faction that emerges in the LMT/Jonesboro storyline (ChatGPT export material) — meaning the Kas-Do drew its identity directly from this ancient desert people's language.
