World Bank & Loans
Type: Systems — Player Mechanic (Economy) Status: Canon (published, player-facing guide) Source: Borrowing Money from the Bank
Overview
The World Bank is the in-game bank available to all player characters (PCs), alongside other banks that may offer loans. Loans are denominated in Helvatica Dollars (colloquially, Kila Vas Dollars).
The World Bank is a portfolio corporation owned by LMT (Landfall Manufacturing & Trade), and is the largest bank in Maf.
How Loans Work
- Apply via the "Loans" option on the Market page, or search "World Bank" (or another lending bank's name) and select it
- Complete and submit the loan application
- At full game launch: applications are approved instantly and funds transferred immediately for any Standing of 0.0 or higher
- Approved funds are direct-deposited to the character's account immediately, reflected in the Wallet's "Funds Available"
- Funds can be spent freely, up to the available amount, for any purpose
Standing Effects
- Taking out a loan increases Standing with that bank by +0.01
- Each loan payment made also increases Standing with that bank by +0.01
- Higher Standing with the World Bank → larger borrowing capacity + lower interest rate
Repayment
- Loan principal: deducted automatically from the Character's account, roughly once per game-time month
- Interest: paid by the player (not the Character) on a weekly real-time basis, to an account designated by the lender — an important distinction between in-fiction character economy and real-world player payment cadence
Notable Reference
- Article links to Kila Vas Market (mafstarfleetbattles.com/market) as the in-game marketplace hub — confirms Kila Vas's role as central to player-facing economic activity, consistent with its established role as the primary player entry city
