Overview

The Stellar Credit is a distinct currency from the Helvatica Dollar, created by an (as-yet unnamed) organization to serve as a "politically neutral" alternative to the Helvatica Dollar. The two currencies are interchangeable on a strict one-for-one basis, but are not the same instrument — they have different issuers and different purposes (Helvatica Dollar: official state currency of Helvatica/MACOFS; Stellar Credit: neutral alternative for contexts where a state-issued currency isn't desired or appropriate).

Spelling Variant

In-game, "Stellar Credit" is sometimes spelled "Stellar Kredit" — the currency's symbol resembles a stylized letter "K," which has influenced this alternate spelling.
