Overview

The Eastern Empire is a society devoted to spiritual practice, rejecting the "carnal" ambitions of wealth, money, hedonism, selfish ambition, and pride. Membership is technically open to anyone — organic or sapient AI — who fully devotes themselves to a life of spiritual pursuit, transcending species, origin, or physical location.

Recognized under the MACOFS Constitution, alongside sapient AI such as the Peacekeepers.

Nod — The Capital

In 2020, following closer association with Kila Vas and integration into MACOFS, the Eastern Empire built its first city: its capital, Nod. Built within a lush valley surrounded by crystalline mountains, using bio-organic materials blended into the landscape, powered entirely by renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal). At its center lies the Circle of Enlightenment, a great amphitheater for meditation, philosophical debate, and cultural ceremony, surrounded by smaller ashrams and sanctuaries. Nod operates on a barter and service-based economy (teaching, artistic creation, healing practices, and other acts of communal value, rather than currency), with sapient AI playing a significant role in administration, infrastructure, and education. Open to visitors who respect its spiritual guidelines, serving as a hub for cross-galactic cultural and philosophical exchange.

Lumina Ascend — First Space Station

Also opened in 2020: the Eastern Empire's first space station, Lumina Ascend, orbiting Maf. Shaped like a lotus flower in full bloom, its "petals" house living quarters, meditation chambers, and research facilities. Its central hub features a transparent crystalline dome for cosmic meditation, and at its heart lies the Chamber of Eternal Reflection, a zero-gravity meditation space surrounded by holographic projections of the cosmos.
