Overview

The Confluence Region is the area where the Snickers Galaxy (home to Maf) and the Milky Way galaxy physically intersect. This region presumably enables travel and contact between the two galaxies — a rare and significant cosmological feature of the setting.

Worldbuilding Significance

• Explains how The Hauler's Gambit — a story centered on Kila Vas (Snickers Galaxy) — can also reference a "colony on the edge of the Milky Way." The Confluence Region is the likely corridor connecting the two.
• The Galactic Civil War is confirmed to occur solely within the Milky Way — meaning it is geographically distinct from Maf/Norihing/Snickers Galaxy events (including World War 3, which occurred on Norihing). This further separates these two "galactic-scale" conflicts: not just different eras, but different galaxies entirely, connected (if at all) only via the Confluence Region.
