The Black Doctrine Group
Type: Faction — Covert Shadow Task Force Founded: 2017 Status: Canon (confirmed by creator) — full text preserved per archival standard

Origin
Formed by Perold Jonas in 2017 in response to the growing threat of the Overlord in the 8th Galaxy — an intelligence that "sees, anticipates, and exists across time itself," against which conventional fleets, strategy, and even Arpiszon ships are insufficient. Jonas, in conversation with Androve on the Observation Deck of Kila Vas, concludes: "We can't fight it. Not in the traditional sense. Not even with the TimeLords" — and so a shadow task force is conceived instead, reporting only to Jonas and the TimeLords, operating entirely outside official MACOFS command channels. Its mandate: observe, understand, mislead, and contain the Overlord — or survive it.
Organizational Structure
- Director: Perold Jonas — absolute authority, strategic oversight
- Deputy Director: TimeLord Temerak — temporal intelligence and timeline risk analysis
- Operations Chief: Captain Elijah Engle — Arpiszon tactical and covert operations
- Cybernetic and AI Systems Lead: Dr. Lyra Venk — coordinates Peacekeepers, StarLords, and AI-assisted analytics
- Psychological and Reality Operations Lead: Androve — destabilization, disinformation, and indirect manipulation strategies
Compartmentalized: every member receives only the information necessary for their duties, and sub-teams know only fragments of the overall strategy. Secrecy protocols restrict communication to encrypted Z-wave or secure slipspace filaments; meetings occur only in void-space facilities or secure, sensor-cloaked MACOFS planets. Rapid Response Cells (small StarLord/specialized Peacekeeper strike teams) can insert into or withdraw from a temporal zone within minutes.
Core Divisions
- Temporal Intelligence Division (TID): TimeLords provide continuous analysis of Overlord temporal dispersion, operate "time windows" to observe past/future echoes without interacting with them, and develop predictive Overlord behavior models based on the Shadow Hawk mission's detected patterns.
- Covert Recon & Insertion (CRI): Arpiszon ships gather stealth intelligence at the edges of the 8th Galaxy; retrofitted ships carry Special Forces for reconnaissance and sabotage insertion, using full slipspace and microgravity masking to avoid Overlord node detection.
- Cyber & AI Analysis (CAA): Peacekeepers and StarLords monitor digital, quantum, and slipspace communications; detect and trace temporal anomalies or Overlord network activity; develop counter-AI measures, containment protocols, and false node signals to mislead the Overlord.
- Psychological & Reality Operations (PRO): Exploits the Dream Seeding Program technology (previously used for tech acceleration) for indirect influence in warlord territories; crafts misperceptions, paranoia, and controlled "leaks"; prepares phantom-threat simulations and temporal decoys.
Operational Philosophy (Jonas's Guiding Principles)
- Do Not Engage Directly — direct fleet or AI confrontation with the Overlord is forbidden; the entity is too unpredictable
- Control the Information Web — intelligence, misinformation, and stealth are the primary weapons
- Leverage Allies and Proxies — the Warhawks, Arpiszon ships, and neutral factions become nodes in a web of influence and observation
- Maintain Plausible Deniability — no operation can ever be traced back to MACOFS; every act must appear accidental, natural, or the result of local faction decisions
- Survival First — the Group exists first to observe and survive; containment or disruption comes second
Early Moves (as of formation)
- Shadow Hawk refitted for extended temporal stealth operations
- Three additional Arpiszon ships dispatched to monitor secondary Overlord nodes
- Peacekeepers embedded across MACOFS and Warhawks fleets as rapid observers/field agents
- PRO begins soft infiltration of warlord territories to distract from early intelligence operations
- Jonas and the TimeLords begin designing temporal decoy experiments to mislead an entity that perceives multiple timelines simultaneously
Open Questions
- The first operational sortie of the Black Doctrine Group (the opening act of the "Overlord Shadow Campaign") was outlined in the same conversation but not fully captured on this pass — see conversations-001.json #79, messages 176-179, for the raw material if a future session wants to expand this.
