Arpiszon-Class Ships (Full Text)

Type: Ships — Reconnaissance/Intelligence Vessel (Full Text) Status: Canon (confirmed by creator) — full text preserved per archival standard

Overview

Elite deep-space reconnaissance and intelligence vessels — 500 meters long, 84 meters wide, shaped like a large bullet with a blunt nose and cone-shaped tail bearing nobby protrusions. Carry no armament or shielding, relying entirely on stealth.

Systems

  • Analytical computers process passive/active sensor data continuously
  • Propulsion computers occupy 30% of non-crew areas, enabling "fold"/"slip" space travel for undetected movement
  • Passive monitoring range: 1.4 AU in slipspace; 150.26 AU in normal space
  • Active mode: quintuples monitoring range but emissions become traceable
  • Coating: gray material absorbing optical light and EM radiation, making ships nearly invisible to the naked eye or EM sensors
  • Microgravity signature: extremely heavy mass produces microgravity waves that multiply several thousandfold in intensity when moving — currently cannot be hidden or masked by any known technology

Detection Vulnerability

Most star nations and planetary governments have some form of microgravity wave detection. Advanced systems can detect objects as small as 0.3 metric tons at a radius of up to 1.6 AU.

Crew

Standard crew: 424 personnel, predominantly human/organic (rather than StarLords, who are considered better employed in operational/ tactical missions). 50 active Arpiszon ships exist; 4 have been retrofitted, removing detection arrays/analytical systems to increase crew voids for up to 50 drop-suit-wearing Special Forces for covert insertion.

Communications Doctrine

Arpiszon ships use a layered, multi-tier communications architecture:

  1. Optical (low-tech stealth) — light pulses, strobe sequences, directed laser beams; short-to-moderate range, virtually unintercept-able beyond line of sight, ideal for silent ship-to-ship coordination.
  2. Standard Radio/EM — used sparingly, for interfacing with non-Arpiszon entities or decoy transmissions; heavily encrypted, layered with signal-masking noise.
  3. X-wave (first-level stealth) — creates a narrow, instantaneous corridor through realspace, several light-years range in real time; fast and reliable, but the corridor itself is technically detectable by advanced triangulation.
  4. Y-wave (hyperspace filament comms) — travels along spacetime filaments in hyperspace, up to an estimated 15.5 million light-years, instantaneous real-time; difficult but not impossible to detect or trace. The Overlord Commandos are reportedly developing a "filament harmonic disruptor" to intercept Y-wave.
  5. Z-wave (Top Secret, Tier-Black) — rides naturally occurring fractures in spacetime, avoiding any artificial corridor; near-limitless range, operationally reliable to ~80,000 light-years, degrading beyond that (garbled), with only static detectable at 750,000 light-years. Currently believed undetectable by any entity — though never used near the Overlord's own galaxy as a precaution. Transmissions fan out in a self-repairing fractal sphere pattern. Knowledge restricted to Z-Wave Operators, select senior engineers, StarLord command-level officers, and Warhawk liaison researchers — even MACOFS Joint Command lacks full technical schematics.
