Overview
A Starfleet logistics tender, lost during a routine escort rotation on Lane K-17B while operating alongside the cruiser SFV Meridian. The Kestrel Dawn was struck by a localized ram-space shear — not a conventional weapon, but a manipulation of space itself — and did not explode so much as unravel: cargo vanished, the hull folded, and all life signs dropped to zero in under two seconds. No hostile contact was ever visually confirmed; the attacker's identity remains unknown.
Its loss is documented in Jonas's Quiet Pride, and the Loss of the Kestrel Dawn and referenced in Starfleet's Institutional Decay: 2010-2017 as an early, quiet warning sign that went unheeded.
