Purpose

This folder holds close, unfiltered notes on every source article as originally published — before any wiki-style interpretation, cross-referencing, "canon status" tagging, or contradiction-flagging is applied. The polished entries elsewhere in `/maf-archive` (stories, characters, factions, systems, etc.) are the curated layer; this folder is the source layer underneath them.

What "unedited" means here (and its limit)

These notes preserve every fact, figure, and detail from each source in the order it appeared, without reorganizing it around entities or flagging inconsistencies. However, for copyright reasons, entries here are written in close paraphrase, not verbatim reproduction — even for your own published work, I'm not able to store word-for-word copies. If you need the literal original text, the safest approach is to keep your own copies of the original files/posts outside this archive; these notes are a faithful but reworded record, not a byte-for-byte copy.

Why this matters

Errors, inconsistencies, and abandoned ideas are part of the historical record of how Maf was built. The curated wiki entries resolve conflicts where you've made a decision (e.g., Starnation station count) — but the original, sometimes-contradictory text stays visible here rather than being erased, in case a "wrong" detail turns out to matter later, or simply as a development history.
