2005: The NWMG's Final Year

By 2005, the New World Maf Government is visibly crumbling — skirmishes have broken out among several of its 300 member nations, and civil war is widely seen as inevitable. Jonas has repeatedly tried to bring the Councils a solution, but has been continuously rebuffed; even President Jon Medaris (whom Jonas fought against in WW3) refuses to see him.

Jonas Turns to Corporate Power

Rebuffed by government, Jonas meets with executives of Kila Vas's largest corporations, hoping their influence and government contracts can pressure the NWMG to listen. Each meeting follows the same pattern: polite interest, genuine engagement with his ideas, then the same refusal — "You seem to have your finger on the nexus of the problem... Unfortunately, we can't help you."

The Return to LMT

Having exhausted other options, Jonas finally turns to the family and corporation he had cut all ties with in 1930: LMT. In 1990, LMT — already the planet's largest corporation — transferred its headquarters from Jonesboro to Kila Vas, recognizing Kila Vas as where future planetary power would concentrate.

Jonas's Original Departure (1930)

Jonas — real name Perold Jones — was recruited into the LMT family business at 16, and by 21 was inducted into the "Inner Sanctum" — where LMT's "seeding program" and centuries of planned political manipulation were mapped out. Growing morally outraged, and after several friends who'd also learned the truth died in "mysterious accidents," "mysterious murders," or ruled "suicides" that Jonas believed were actually murders, Jonas recruited 350 young idealists and, in 1930, led an expedition west into the unexplored continental interior — deliberately walking away from wealth, family, and his own name.

Five years later, his group reached the west coast roughly 1,300 miles north of Kila Vas (unknown to him at the time). In 1939, Jonas flew northwest across the ocean with a team in 3 huge flying boats — a journey of several months — and discovered Janast, where he found his calling, officially changed his name from Jones to Jonas, and cut his final tie to his old life.

The 2005 Meeting

LMT's leadership agrees to meet Jonas, joined by his middle sister, an uncle, and two cousins — cordial but not warm. Jonas argues the NWMG hasn't just failed, it's already dead, surviving purely on inertia. LMT concedes the point, but reminds him: "Isn't this what you could have predicted? YOU wrote the NWMG Constitution!" Jonas clarifies he and Ravel Magrep wrote it jointly with a small team — deliberately designed to cage Medaris politically, since he couldn't achieve continental control militarily.

The Medaris Revelation

✅ Major reveal: Medaris's public persona — a Kaolsan desert rebel fighting LMT's control of Shapas Desert oil and resources, and the harsh conditions of LMT's desert workers — was cover. Medaris was secretly also an Original Colonist, privy to some of Jonesboro's secret knowledge (though not the seeding program or LMT's specific political plans, which he only suspected). The Alien Trade Secret

Jonas's sister reveals a secret classified to the Jones family, LMT's top leadership, and Jonesboro's highest leadership only: although Maf has not made official first contact, LMT and Jonesboro are already secretly communicating and trading with several off-world civilizations — something Jonas, despite having authored the NWMG Constitution, never knew.

The Full Origin Revealed

This conversation confirms (partially overlapping, partially expanding existing Ark Royal documentation):

  • Maf sits in the Allotrox star system, Snickers Galaxy, roughly 32,000 light-years from Earth (a figure already flagged elsewhere in the archive as later superseded by 75,000 light-years — preserved here per the fog-of-history principle as this source's stated figure).
  • 200,000 people fled Earth in 2037 to escape war and violence aboard the Ark Royal. Perold Jones (Jonas) was the first baby born in space during that voyage.
  • Due to relativistic time dilation, Earth year 2037 is roughly 3,000 years in Maf's past.
  • The Ark Royal crashed into the ocean 280 miles east of where Jonesboro now stands — it was never meant to enter atmosphere. Jonesboro rose from its wreckage.
  • The Original Colonists arrived in local year 1893, finding Maf already home to a huge, thriving, balkanized civilization — a mystery unsolved even in 2005: Maf's year 1893 was, coincidentally, essentially identical to Earth's 1893 in industry, culture, politics, and technology.
  • As of 2005, under 500,000 people on Maf (out of billions) are descended from the Original Colonists.

The Seeding Program

From 1895 onward, LMT has carefully "seeded" Earth-historical inventions and technology into Maf's timeline to accelerate its technological advancement — while LMT itself accumulates ownership of the vast majority of the planet's patents. This civilizational engineering is known only to a small circle called the "Fellow Associates."

The "2000 Secret"

✅ Major new plot thread: hidden in the basement of Jonesboro College is the Jonesboro Computer — a secret quantum AI known only to a handful of insiders. In 1990 (the same year LMT relocated to Kila Vas), the Jonesboro Computer predicted that Earth would discover Maf no later than 2010, possibly as early as 2000. Its projection: Earth, likely millennia ahead technologically, would arrive as a "conquering force," crushing Maf, enslaving its population, and nationalizing LMT.

In response, the Fellow Associates decided to accelerate the seeding program, concentrating it especially in Kila Vas, to give Maf a fighting chance at survival before contact. Jonas himself was not told of the "2000" secret in 2005 — the Jonesboro Computer only generated the prediction in 1990, after Jonas had already been estranged from the family for six decades, and no one present at the 2005 meeting knows of it either.

The XZ1 Drop Ship and the Zambetq Campaign

✅ Confirmed connection: one year after LMT's 1990 relocation to Kila Vas (i.e., 1991), Jonas received the XZ1 drop ship from LMT — with full awareness it came from them — and used it to conduct the first planetary assault in history: 200,000 troops dropped from orbit forced Zambetq's 5-million-strong military into surrender in under 4 hours.

The Sister's Offer

After the formal meeting, Jonas's sister meets him privately in a lounge at LMT headquarters. She tells him LMT will support his efforts to stabilize the NWMG — on the condition that he apologize and "return to the fold."
