Overview

A consistent implicit template used across the "NPC Flaws RPG" conversation for generating NPC background/motivation write-ups, confirmed explicitly when the creator asked for another NPC "using the same format." Useful as a reusable format for future NPC generation.

Template Structure

  1. NPC Name — only stated when generating a name from scratch; omitted when the creator already supplied a name/description
  2. Description — physical appearance: height, build, distinguishing features, typical attire/style (also only present for AI-originated NPCs; skipped when the creator supplied physical details up front)
  3. Background — the character's history: origin, upbringing, how they arrived at their current role/situation
  4. Motivations — a numbered list, consistently 7 items, each with a short bolded label (e.g., "Financial Gain," "Thrill of the Game") followed by 1–3 sentences of explanation
  5. A closing summary paragraph restating the character's core tension and suggesting how players might interact with them narratively
