Starbase 17

Type: Location — Neutral Space Station Status: Canon (confirmed by creator) — full text preserved per archival standard

Overview

Located in the Confluence Region — the intersection zone of the Milky Way and Snickers galaxies — Starbase 17 was relinquished by the New World Maf Government (NWMG) and ceded to the InterGalactic Authority (IGA), established to monitor the peace treaty between IFTR and the NWMG. Following years of civil war tearing the Milky Way apart (which has already toppled IFTR's government along with thousands of others — see The Founding of MACOFS for this broader history), Starbase 17 has become far more than IGA headquarters: it is a neutral, safe stopping point for refugees, merchants, traders, cargo pilots, and any vessel needing repair or transiting between galaxies who needs a little R&R before continuing their journey.

Notable Establishments

• Diamond John's Sports Pub — where cargo pilots and travelers unwind; known for large, hearty meals, memorabilia-lined walls, and a live band; see Pit Stop at Starbase 17 for a dramatized visit
• The Garden Sphere — a green space aboard the station
• The Entertainment District — live shows and music venues
• Docking Bay 42 — one of the station's repair docks
