Overview

A string of 7 glistening white, 300-meter-diameter spherical structures in high orbit over Maf, connected by 40-meter-wide glass tubes filled with shops, cafes, and restaurants — a central walkway through each tube connects sphere to sphere, used by automated trams, bicyclists, and pedestrians, lined with kiosks, food stands, and booths. Constructed in a lazy "S" formation, the brilliant white exteriors make the station visible from the surface even in daytime.

The String of Pearls caters primarily to the middle and upper-middle class, and — unlike most hotels, which serve merely as a base for nearby attractions — functions as a destination unto itself.
